Dangote Sugar Reports N430.2 Billion Half-Year Revenue, with NBC Contributing N63 Billion

Dangote Sugar Plc disclosed that sales to the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) accounted for 31.74% of its Q2 2025 revenue, contributing over N63 billion from the Lagos region, its top market.

The company reported strong Q2 revenue of N216.2 billion, up 25% from N172.8 billion the previous year, bringing its half-year total to N430.2 billion — a 46% increase. The bulk of revenue came from 50kg sugar bags, generating N416.8 billion, while retail sales rose to N10 billion. Lagos remained the strongest market, with sales of N228.1 billion, and the Northern region saw the fastest growth, nearly doubling to N163.4 billion.

Dangote Sugar supplies unfortified sugar mainly to food, beverage, and pharmaceutical companies, while Vitamin A-fortified sugar is sold to smaller wholesalers and retail channels. Packaged retail sugar comes in 250g, 500g, and 1kg sizes.

Large-scale distributors accounted for 65% of total revenue, driving growth alongside retail sales.

The company also improved cost management, cutting finance costs sharply to N35.1 billion in Q2 from N111.6 billion a year earlier. This helped Dangote Sugar return to profitability, posting a pre-tax profit of N524 million in Q2 after a series of losses.
