The U.S. State Department has suspended all visitor visas for individuals from Gaza, including medical and humanitarian visas, while conducting a “full and thorough review” of the issuance process. This decision follows social media claims from far-right activist Laura Loomer.
Advocacy groups warn that the visa suspension could endanger critically ill and injured Gazan children who require urgent treatment in U.S. hospitals. The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund called the decision “devastating and irreversible,” especially given their history of facilitating evacuations of wounded children.
The U.S. has paused all Gaza-related visitor visas, citing a review prompted by far-right social media pressure. Critics argue the policy threatens vital humanitarian efforts and risks leaving vulnerable individuals without timely medical care.
