I might need a third surgery - Kemi Adetiba gives update on battle with fibroid

Award-winning filmmaker Kemi Adetiba has opened up about her ongoing health struggles, revealing she may need to undergo a third surgery in her battle with fibroids.

In a heartfelt update shared on social media, the King of Boys director explained that although she has already undergone two procedures, lingering complications may require further medical intervention.

“This fibroid journey has been long and exhausting,” she wrote. “It’s not just physical but also deeply emotional and mental. I thought I was done after the second surgery, but signs are showing that I might not be.”

Kemi expressed gratitude for the support she’s received and encouraged other women facing similar issues to prioritize their health and speak up. “There’s nothing to be ashamed of,” she added. “We need to normalize these conversations and support each other.”

Fibroids — noncancerous growths in the uterus — are common among women of reproductive age and can cause severe pain, heavy bleeding, and fertility complications.

Fans and colleagues have flooded her page with messages of support, praising her courage and transparency.
